What People Say

Most Liked

Guests frequently rave about the well-seasoned burgers, especially the Maui and Bulgogi varieties, often complimenting their juicy flavors. Quick service is a standout feature, making it ideal for those who are on a tight schedule yet seek high-quality comfort food. The Spam musubi leaves a lasting impression with its harmonious mix of flavors.

Many reviews specifically highlight the delicious grilled meats and generous portions, including the kalbi and pork katsu, which satisfy both hunger and taste. Customers appreciate the friendly and attentive staff, who enhance the overall dining experience, creating a welcoming vibe. Lastly, the casual atmosphere lends itself well to both take-out and dine-in experiences, ensuring a pleasant visit every time.

Most Disliked

Some patrons note that the menu, while focused on Hawaiian specialties, is relatively small, leading to fewer options than some diners might prefer. A few comments mention that the interior layout feels more like a homey eatery than a full-service restaurant, which might not appeal to those looking for a more formal dining experience. Though the quick service is generally appreciated, a couple of guests have expressed a desire for a more leisurely pace during busy lunch hours. Parking can sometimes be limited during peak times, making accessibility a consideration for some diners. Despite these minor drawbacks, the majority of customers leave with full stomachs and happy hearts.

Overall great experience! Quiet dining area! Small menu! We both had burgers and were surprised at how well seasoned they were!! Dumpling were very aromatic and tasty!! Spam musubi was fabulous!!

Food is excellent considering it is very simple dishes. Always fresh, hot, and consistent. I especially enjoy the Bulgogi Burger, and the Maui Burger. The owner, James, is always friendly and attentive. It's definitely a go-to for pick up on the way home. Small building with very basic layout more of a eat at the house than sit and dine place.

My boyfriend and I had been talking about coming here for a while and finally decided to come. It was DELICIOUS. We will be coming back regularly. We’re still sitting here eating actually but it was so good so I just had to leave a review. The young lady who took our order was super sweet and friendly, and the guy in the back (I believe cooking) was also friendly and greeted us when we walked in and was super nice when he brought out our food. :) definitely try it if you’re unsure, just go for it, you won’t regret it.

Wow, did this place remind us of our time in Maui. Everywhere we travel to, we look for a good Hawaiian BBQ, and this did not disappoint. I got the bowl with spicy pork and Spam, and my partner got the mixed plate with bulgogi, short ribs, and katsu. Everything was perfection, especially the pork and short ribs. The service was very good too. No complaints, can't wait to come back again next time we're in Baton Rouge.

Such a good place! Food was amazing. Highly suggest the spice chicken, kalbi and the katsu. This was our first time here, but we were so impressed we decided to get take out for lunch tomorrow. We went during a slow time in the middle of the afternoon, so it gave us a chance to take to the owner. What a wonderful person! Can't wait until the next time I can come back.

One of the best hidden gems in BR. I love coming back again and again. I don't know why this place doesn't have a line out the door every time I come. The food is amazing and the service is great. Plus I've seen the owner perform small acts that give to the community. He deserves more traffic than he gets. I'm a fan of the 3 meat platter with spicy chicken, bulgolgi, and kalbi. Add Musubi on the side.

Got the plate with the beef bulgogi and spicy chicken. Super flavorful, a perfect portion size, and not bad on cost. Feels like a true family establishment too. If you haven’t had the pleasure of going to Hawaii yourself and trying the great food, come here! Brought back a lot of good memories from my trip there.
